Riding Basics: M2 Licence Course

Course Itinerary:

Weekends -Theory Classes are held Friday evenings from 6:15pm – 9:30pm before the scheduled weekend course. Saturday and Sunday Practical training runs from 8am – 5pm both days.

Weekday Evenings – Theory Classes are held Friday evenings from 6:15pm – 9:30pm before the scheduled Practical training days. Monday through Thursday Practical training runs from 5:30pm – 9:00pm.


On-site restroom, on-site parking.

What to bring:

Along with your M1 permit and your riding safety gear, you may want to pack a lunch, snacks and water. It is also a good idea to bring a two piece rain suit and suntan lotion.

Riding Strategies: M Licence Course

$395 + TAX

Theory Classroom Location: Glen Abbey Community Centre, 1415 Third Line, Mezzanine, Oakville

Practical Location: Tim Horton’s, 1530 North Service Road West (at Third Line), Oakville

Course Itinerary :

Weekends -Theory Classes are held Friday evenings from 6:15pm – 9:30pm before the scheduled weekend course. Practical Training is done either Saturday or Sunday from 8am – 5pm.

What to bring:

You will be required to have a motorcycle with proof of ownership and insurance and your M2 or M license. Please note you must have held your M2 licence for a minimum of 18 months if obtained through a safety training course; 22 months without a course. Appropriate riding safety gear is also required.

Roadworthy Skills


Do you have your M2 or M license and want to gain more riding confidence? Could your skills use a tweak? Have you wondered what it’s like to take a motorcycle tour? RTI’s team of professional instructors can help you with all of this in one day!

Our Roadworthy Skills riding course was designed for those with modest riding experience who are looking to improve their on-bike comfort and get a taste of touring. Spending a day with us will help you relearn and refine both your handling abilities and riding-in-traffic habits, as well as relax, as your instructor takes you on a guided tour of the region where you can immediately apply your re-honed skills and have fun! Prerequisites include the ability to ride your motorcycle comfortably and a valid, M2 or M licence. Scooters welcome!*

Completion of this course entitles participant to a $50 discount** off the Riding Strategies (M and ML Licensing) Course.

Note: Participants must supply an insured street-worthy motorcycle and proper riding gear as listed here in RTI’s Riding Gear Requirements.

Roadworthy Skills – In Action

Spend a day (8:30am – 4:30pm) with our professionally trained instructors first relearning slow speed control, braking and higher speed turning, then refining some observation and communication skills critical to riding in traffic (and groups) and finally, putting it all together as you experience a guided mini-tour of the area, complete with twisty roads, scenic views and noteworthy stops! Class sizes are limited to 4 students with 1 instructor to assure personal attention.
